Chpt 13-14

1) Bostonians and people from the surroundings town were getting ready to fight the British.
2) The courtroom where Anthony Burns was being tried was locked down because there had been prisoners who tried to escape.
3) Throughout chapter 14 it took place during 1840’s when he has a quick flash back from when he was enslaved.
4)Also Anthony talked about a different Master he had when he thought about running away.
5) In this chapter he met new and old friends he knew, some died and they were slaves like him.

Hoses- a flexible tube for conveying a liquid, as water, to a desired point: a garden hose.

1)“ some masters, cruel like Caldwell, used them as entertainments in the big house” (Hamilton 112)- this is an example of simile because its comparing a cruel master like Caldwell.
2)At times, Anthony felt the devil near…” (Hamilton 116) this is situational irony because I know what’s going to happen because this chapter took place couple of years back and I know what would happen next.

Through this Chapter Anthony Burns was still on trail while being in prison. Alot of violence happened some people died, alot of guards and prisoners got hurt while he experiences it. And later on in the chapter it takes couple years back in his past of him working for a different boss.
Chpt 15- 16

1) Anthony roomed in Mr. Millspaugh’s own house above the man’s bedroom.
2) Anthony was sent to courthouse jail.
3) African Americans supported Anthony when the day of the trail.
4) Anthony was losing hope of if he’s going to be free but he saw a light and that gave him confidence.

1) “A pale light gathered Anthony, enough to make him stir” (Hamilton 122) this is an example of situational irony because I know that he’s going to get his freedom.
2) “it is the height of cruelty to the prisoner” (Hamilton 126)- this is an example of personification because it’s describing cruelty as height like an height of an object.
1) This chapter was about Anthony Burns how he still feels that he's not going far with his court case. He’s hopping that he will be freed.
