Chapter 5-6

1) Anthony Burns kept worrying about his past and about his future.
2) He stills tries hiding away from his master because he’s trying to hunt him down.
3) Anthony Burns was issued and warrant to be arrested he was wanted.
4) There were slave’s slayers hunting Anthony Burns down.

1) “The weight of the past and the darkness of it’s night enclose Anthony until slowly, with the growing light of day he returned to the present.” (Hamilton 33) – This is an example of personification because it’s adding characteristics of past and darkness. This is also an example of Metaphor because it’s trying to describe both things as they’re similar.
2) “The windows of the jury room where he was kept under guard were covered with iron bars that seemed to break the days into welt of pain.”(Hamilton 33) this is an example of personification because it’s describing characteristics of day into pain.

This chapter is about Anthony Burns trying to hide during on his escape while he’s being hunted down by the slayers. Anthony burns was wanted in town and he was caught and arrested.
chapter 7-8

1) This chapter begins with a flash back in year 1846 of Anthony Burns past working for his Master He Mars.
2) He was talking about Rabbits.
3) He was young and a slave during his flash back and He Mars keeps picking on him.
4) Anthony had to send a letter to someone but he tore it up>
5) People wanted to help Anthony from being arrested and being enslaved again.

1)” just as you say. Mars the woods is being enough to hold me” (Hamilton 58) this is an example of a metaphor because this quotes describing the woods that it could actually hold people.
2) “they feared that slavery could enter the territories. It could slither just as easily into the free states of north” (Hamilton 67). This is an example of situational irony because I know that slaves would try to escape and a lot would die trying to escape.

Through these 2 chapters there has been may flash backs that keeps going back and forth about Anthony Burns during his escape and in the past when he was a slave. He was caught and was sentence to court and he’s on trail because of his escape he attempted.
