• Genly Ali who is the man character in this story met with the king because something has went wrong in the planet.
• Genly is the sole representative of the Ekumen.
• Estraven is to be stripped of all his titles and exiled from the kingdom for committing treason, so this meant that they banded Estraven from the kingdom.
• Genly tried convincing the King of the planet they are on they’re people who explored the planet about 40 years ago.
• The King became furious.
• The people were talking about how many years they have left to live.
