• Gordy was furious when Motown acquired film rights to shoot films.
• Motown was going back down the drain.

• After Tremendous surge of nostalgia about the label, Motown music represented The big chill in the generation of 1983.
• As the slaves floundered Motown found it increasingly difficult to sign new artistes with now its artistes would sign from different record labels than Motown.
